Feeding

snkeyes Aug 24, 2004 09:28 AM

Hey everyone,

I have just another quick question about feeding. I have 3 female juvie leos. So last night I fed them seperate because it looks like there is one that will eat everything. I put each gecko in a container and they ate between 10-11 meal worms each. I then put roughly 15-20 in the food dish for the rest of the night. One came back and ate like 6 more. Is this too much food? Should I feed them everynight like this? they are about 4-5 inches (2of them) and the littlest girl is just a bit smaller and thinner...but she is eating for me.

any and all suggestions would be appreciated...thanks

Everything sounds fine to me. The one that's eating the most is going to grow more quickly though. The smaller one should eventually catch up, but for now just make sure she doesn't encounter any aggression issues from her cagemates.

It might seem like a lot of hassle, but it's important to make sure they all get to eat when you do feed them. This is important when you house young leos together. Even just skipping a few meals is enough to put a baby behind the other babies who eat every day. The size difference may not be a big deal (since any baby that eats 10 mealworms is going to grow quickly), but it's still obvious.
