Hernando Co., Florida Kings ... Rare locality ?

Keith Hillson Aug 24, 2004 10:57 AM

I just got a pair of F1 hatchlings from wildcaught animals. Hernando Co. for those who dont know is north of Tampa on the Gulf Coast. According to range maps this locale is in the intergration zone of Florida and Eastern Kings. The breeder male is over 5' and the female is near it. The adults are beautiful animals and so are these little hatchlings.

Keith,

Those parents definitely have the "peninsula intergrade" look to me. Very nice. Hernando County is also not far from Pinellas county, where the nice Pinellas kings that Lindsay Pike now has are from. I think the Eastern/Florida intergrades are awesome, I've got all my friends in the Jacksonville area on the lookout for me, I'd love to have one from that area. Also, don't worry about that King addiction, I love your pictures, keep 'em coming.

...Keith, I think you need to hit the Betty Ford Clinic for a serious Lampropeltis getula getula addiction! lol!

Just how many do you have now anyways?

Those are sweet, dude. I like the rich background color offsetting those nice yellow chains. Reminds me of a caramel albino ball python. I can't wait to see the next generation.
