A jungle at 5 months will be very small. about as thick as a marker. A cage that big in my opinion is WAY to big. You should start your jungle off in something around the size of a 10 gallon tank and then you could put it in a permanent enclosure at about a year of age. A good size and the biggest I would go is 4ft wide x 24-30" deep x 18-24" high. I think you will find it very difficult to keep the correct temps and humidity in a cage that big. Do a few searches and read some husbandry sheets and you will get a better understanding for a JCP's needs. Good Luck, Brian D

Why would you use a terrestrial cage to house an arboreal animal? Wouldn't they be much happier with a taller cage that allowed them to stay completely off of the ground when they feel fit. A local reptile place near here has carpets, and they almost never come down to the ground when they don't need to.

I agree with the other post. That would be way to big. I house my 6 foot JCP in a 80 gallon tank. Its 4 foot wide x 18 inches deep and 2 foot tall. JCP like to climb but that would be to much. Mine uses her boxes just as much as her branches.
You are looking at 2-3 years before yours is adult size.

ok ill wait like 2 year plus maybe ill make it alittle smaller
just wasnt sure if it was too big or not dont remembered if i ask well i do have 2 then i could get another so i have 3 and then the cage should be fine i do have like a 75 or 100 gallon tank they are in but i closed off half of it it isnt that great of a looking tank and ill have to get a better one by next summer cause the tops on the tank i had to make myself which was for my iguana so they will diffenately not be able to withstand two JCP's maybe ill just make it like 5x4x5, thanx for all your imput buddies

well now i have plans next year or so ill start on building it 6ftx 4ftx 5ft but i plan to make it into two if not four cages so they will be for 2 cages 3ftx 4ftx 5ft each and for four cages it would be 3ftx 4ftx 2.5ft or something of that matter ill get on autocad and draw it up but i do plan on getting more snakes within 1-2 years atleast 2 more

on sexing anyone know how to tell what sex they are cause vet's = like 40$ which i may do unless you can tell from physical features when atleast 1 year old
