Feeding Questions for RCs...

MillionPoundBomb Aug 24, 2004 05:55 PM

I have been feeding mine like 4-5 small crickets every other day then between those days I have been offering Crested gecko diet. Is this alright?

I once put out some mashed mellon and banana and the little guy ate a bit. I am still wary of the crested gecko diet though, as I am not sure if he is eating it... but it is hard to tell when they have such small appetites!

Also, is a 30 gallon big enough for an adult? How about a pair? Thanks in advance.

It is made by t-rex and is "formulated for fruit eating geckos". When I had a day gecko for a little while I was reccomended that they would eat it. So, is this ok for cresteds?

Last night I woke up at 4:30 am to see him running around his cage, so I gave him a few crickets and the crested diet and watched him for about a good 45 minutes. Neatest thing ever. I love this gecko. I'll take some pictures later.

Thanks again.

Is the crested gecko diet your refering to made by T-rex??

I feed my cresties crickets everyday(as much as they eat in a few hours or over night) The crickets are appropriate size for the cresteds. (I have one adult and two juvies) How big is you crested??

I feed peach or bannana baby food two-three times a week mixed with a lil t-rex diet and calcium.

I Base my feeding schedule on what i was told by another breeder and it seems to work.

How do you serve the t rex crested diet?? Do you prepare it by the instructions on the label??

Alot of the feeding "schedule" depends on the geckos it self and the age/size of it.

Hope ive helped some.

I use it! i split up the feedings of cresty food, baby food and crix. they get crix once a week, usually on the weekends, and then every other day they get either baby food, cresty diet, or both. all mixed w/ calcium. it seems to be working so far. The adults are nice and fat, and the babies (5 of them) are doing well too. The babies dont really eat the crested diet yet, but i've caught a few of them licking away at it (they happen to be the babies of the mother that liked the crested diet first-mittens!)...oh yea, the babies get crix 2X a week
