water level

sumo Aug 24, 2004 11:13 PM

Hello,

I was wondering if 13 inches is to high of a water level for a 6 inch male red eared slider. I want to know if it is bad if I do this not impolite to the turtles.

Thanks

The deeper it is the better. Turtles live in 30 foot deep lakes, so they really don't care how deep the water is.

make sure the water is at LEAST double the width of the carapaceso that if the turtle some how turns on his shell he can flip back over easily and won't chance drowning.
