Hey there Ley. I do not think any one minds about the Iggy pic on here. I have seen others that post pics of thier other reptiles here. I mean after all we are proud of what we do and like to show off a little every once in a while. I have even posted pics of wild Uromastyx that I took on here and no one seemed to mind at all. Good luck.

I enjoy looking at all of everyone's reptiles. This is an easy going forum and I think a bit more personal than most. Keep sharing your photos, even if they are not Tegus. I've been known to post a few off topic photos now and then. Guess maybe I'll do that now.

Jiffy, Is that a rhino Iggy in the front center of the pic with a beardie on its back?? If so I have a ? do they have the same type of temperment as the green iggy or are they a little mellower? Thanks and here is my off topic pic to add to the collection here. I believe this is a Uraomastyx aegypt from sources I emailed the pic too. He is basking on the landing pad for our mediva helicopters.

Thanks for the interest. The Cyclura iguana in the photos is actually a hybrid, lewisiXcaymanensis. Her name is MiMi and she's an absolute sweetheart. I am currently keeping 5 Rhinos, 2 Cubans, and 2 hybrids. Compared to Green Iguanas, they are smarter, calmer, and more interactive with humans...at least mine are. Mine are awesome educational animals and a joy to have in the house. I've often said that if it came down to only keeping one species, Cyclura or Tegus, that the Cyclura would win by a small margin.

I enjoyed that pic of the Uro the first time you posted it and was glad to see it again. I also keep 2 Aegypticus and they are wonderful little lizards.

Just to keep this really off-topic, here is a photo of my newest Spinytail Iguana, Ctolstoy. He's an 11 year old similis and has a terrific attitude for a Spinytail. He's also quite handsome.

That is a spiny-tailed iguana? what an awesome looking lizard!!!

The differences between iguanas and tegus are enormous, and even though my little green guy is only 4 months old, he keeps me busier than meego did at that age. (probably due to the taming and socialization issues) If I had to lean either way, I'd have to say the tegu wins by just a little

This was a pretty cool off topic topic!!

Thank you for letting me know about the Iguana. Also thank you for the pic of the spiney tailed. I would have to say that is what I love about the reptile world. You know you see one dog youve seen them all but with reptiles there are so many colors and species out there I learn of new ones daily it would seem. Any way thank you for sharing your pictures with us.

Wow what a beautiful monitor. I want a black throat so bad I can not stand it but alas I must defer to the wife on that one. She is content with the 4 tegus we have now and then there are also two more that will be coming in another month or so. That will give us a house full so I will hold of on the monitor for a while. At least till I am out of the military and do not have to worry about moving my house three kids, large dog, and 6 tegus, plus any other reptiles to a new location. Thank you for sharing that photo though beautiful
