Was it a positive experience? If you e-mail does he answer back or do you have to call him?

Ralp has been in the business a LONG time and has some truly amazing animals. I have never bought from him but I do plan to in the future! Everytime I've used his contact page on his website I've recieved an e-mail back in 48hrs or less (usually less). Big breeders gets TONS of e-mails so it can be timely to get back to everyone. I'd highly reccomend him as would many many others.

i have bought and delt with ralph now for the last 3 or 4 years . i would recommend him every time , he is very prompt and courteous in replying to email's.

I have spoke with him on a couple of occasions. He is ALWAYS very nice and courteous as others say. Even if you have just a question regarding ball pythons. I've personally been ripped off with a person claiming to sell an albino ball, whose pic was on Ralphs page! I contacted Ralph straight away recognizing the pic, and it ended up being his and at his facility! He was amazing trying to help me in any way possible regarding this matter. In the end I lost alot of money though, but the good side of it was Ralph was there, and I learned a hard lesson to be learned. Thanks Ralph! =)

When I posted several weeks ago that I was looking for hets I got tons of people e -mailing me personally claiming to have what I wanted.
When I asked for pics of their animal that was used in the breeding of the het all sent great pics
Then I asked them to pose their animal as I wanted it posed such as by a cell phone or with their hand under the chin or next to their shoe.
They all dropped like flies.
No one would pose their animal in a photo for me to prove it was really theirs.
I would have bought from a small breeder instead and given the little guy a shot at the sale but none could meet that small request.
I don't think I asked for too much so now I have to buy from a huge supplier with a good reputation but maybe that is why he is huge. Maybe he is honest and that is hard to come by in this day and age.

that I would use the posed photo but you can always print your name over a photo so no one can steal it.

You asked me for a pose with a phone and I did send it to you. I also sent a pic of the father. Which is the one out on my web page.

...he never even ASKED me (I don't think), and I'm a vet! Besides, I don't have a dig camera and if he can't trust this vet, I guess I need to get my own camera sooner come later! SJM

Some people know when to stop cooperating with a potential buyer over the internet, cuz it usually ends up in tons of emails and no sales. Sounds like you are one of these "I'll buy it people" that never come thru. Call people, it's much easier. Email sales suck.

FYI, I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of reptiles this year alone. My sale goes to the sellers with good reputations and who go the extra mile for me. I do my homework when purchasing on line. I don't like to make costly mistakes. I also sell reptiles on line (not ball pythons). I am constantly bombarded with questions regarding my reptiles. I personally answer each question with the upmost professionalism becuse you never know who might buy from you. It is extremely important to me that my reptiles are cared for properly and am willing to answer any and all questions regarding their husbandry. So, it seems to me that if you care about the animals you are selling then it doesn't matter if you are "one of those people who never comes through."

FYI, I've dealt with alot of people who just waste my time by asking for pics and then 1000 questions, only to never come thru with the deal. Thats why I prefer phone calls, so you can get a better idea if the person is sincere or not.

I'm not the only one who feels this way, just probably the only one that will have the balls to say it.

You should also know Ralphs reputation enough to not have to ask if he is reputable or not, he didn't get to where he is by ripping his customers off.

Sorry you are so insulted that I check everyone out. I know of a lot of very successful people that are not honest. Ummm how about the Enron guys. Politicians, celebrities. Just because you have a big company or are successful does not mean you are honest.
I don't think Ralph got insulted at all. He just contacted me to sell me a het a few minutes ago.
I am sure he does not have a problem with people checking him out.
After all I found out lots of positive things about him and look at all the advertizing he got in this thread.
As for any negative comments I had about anyone I made sure I never named them in my posts. Just because I chose not to purchase from someone does not mean they are not good breeders.
Actually the ones I was talking about are not even included in this thread because I was going to buy an albino het initially and decided to go with piebald hets because they are my first love when it comes to Ball Pythons. I am actually wanting to produce one for myself even if I wait longer for it because the thrill of producing one is worth the wait.
I am sorry you feel that way about people asking you 1000 questions. I am not looking to fight with you.I just am not as bothered by the sales that don't come through.
I own a art and framing shop for ten years now and deal with that daily but you just can't take it personnally.
One of my best accounts is with the Tampa Bay Bucs and they grilled me and had me price and re price framing quotes for a long time without getting their orders but when I finally earned their trust it was well worth it.

het I want. No really, there are some big breeders I would not trust but I think you are fairly safe with RDR.

I'm looking at his het pieds too to replace my two 50% het pieds.

I picked up 2.1 het pieds and couldn't be happier.Great guy never to busy to answer any question.I'd purchase from him again and I will.Kevin

I have bought from him and had the best service ever. Any hets that I would buy would be from him or a few select others. I have bought hets from him and produced the morph I was breeding for. He has some of the most high end morphs out there. And some snakes you can't even buy yet. I don't think he would have any reason to destroy his name over a few cheap hets when he has the real thing. Also your snakes will come with complete records on their feeding and who the parents were. Also the clutch number you can look up on his site and see the baby you bought when it hatched.

I bought a pair of het pieds from him last week. I called last Tuesday and had my snakes by Friday. The snakes ate the next day, and the T-shirt fits perfectly. Everything went as smooth as silk. Ralph is very prompt, very professional and great guy to deal with.

HMMMMMM.........

We all know the answer to this one, Right!!! Ralph along with several other top breeders are consistantly bringing new morphs to the table and paving the way for us to follow. A lot of my breeding stock has been purchased directly from Ralph Davis. He is a very straight shooter and holds no punches..... Pansies beware... he tells it like it is. He has always had prompt response to my questions and I have never had a subpar animal and never will. He is excessible through email and can sometimes be tracked down by phone. I feel email is probably better for him. Ralph is a guy who will always encourage the newbie and support them with upbeat spirit and knowledge. That goes for those of you who have never bought from him as well...
In my opinon I give him a A.M. Best Rating of AAA

I just purchased a male het pied from him not 2 hrs ago. He was at the lake this weekend and as soon has he returned he got back in touch with me. I had already purchased a male from another breeder but Ralph will always supply such good quality of animals I just had to buy from him. Hmmmm 2 het pied males, time for some females when the money builds back up. Also I agree with a previous post email is probably the easiest way to get in touch with him but he is a cool guy to talk to. So if you are thinking about buying from him, quit thinking and do it. lol
