well I took a stab at breeding this year and I was 0 of 2
my female thayeri seemed to do just fine and laid 17 eggs (all bad....that's probably the boys fault. I'm working on a better cooling this winter)
my female black mexican king (L m nigirits) appeared to breed and become gravid. Everything was text book right up to the pre-laying shed...but she never laid. Then within a week or so she lost the gravid look except for a couple of lumps near the vent. I took her to my vet and after finding nothing by palpatating we did an ultrasound. There where very clear and distinguishable follicles where the lumps are but no developed eggs.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
Was she gravid and reabsorbed?
Was it some sort of false preganacy?
I'd appreciate any info.
