New arrival to the household

rjharper Aug 25, 2004 04:48 PM

This is my new little baby, as yet unamed. She (hopefully) arrived this morning by USPS Express, and after a bath she jumped into her new home. 10 mins later she was chowing down on salad, pellets and about 30 crix! She's a fiesty one, nipped at me twice already but its her first day so I'll forgive her for that. She's a Chris Allen Red x Sandfire, so I cant wait to see how she colours up - she already has great orange and reds in her.

... Fuego, sitting proud on her new rock sculpture I finished this weekend. She's now over 18" and 450g, just over 1 year old.

I am finishing up on my rock sculpture myself...What did you use to waterproof it? I am going to use some MINWAX POLYCRYLIC-Clear Satin.

yeah - minwax polycrylic satin finish is great. i put on one coat - and whilst it was still wet threw some sand on for texture (not too much or it pools and clumps) then when that coat was dry, brushed off the loose sand then applied asecond layer to seal everything. it looked so much better than i thought it would. the minwax goes on milky so looks terrible as you do it, but it dries so clear.

and thanx for the complement on the dragons
