The new Habitat Systems Racks

Tegan Aug 25, 2004 05:49 PM

I was able to go down today and look at the racks that Paul Edwards posted about. And let me tell you something they are NICE!!! I'll deffinatly be picking up one of these bad boys in the very near future. I'm just waiting for Tom to get back to me on how much they will cost. I'll pick up a 10 hole first, because they can be bolted togeather to form one unit, but still taken apart for easy moving. They are very very nice.

Just as a refresher this is one of the pics that Paul posted previously.

That hollow-core PVC is the best material ever, and those folks at Habitat Systems do unparalleled work. A

those look nice.

Tom's going to give me a call when he figures prices out. I think the more people that send him an email requesting info on the new racks the faster he'll get around to pricing them.

I should have pics of the new design this weekend. I'll post them when I get them. I'm exceedingly happy they finally got into the CB-70 rack market because as a Ball python breeder, we really need their product. I'll be getting MANY of these racks for sure. I can tell you this...the boxes slide out so nice it'll make you cry ! Much unlike their competitors. Their new prototype is all open in the back & sides & is built in colums (10 high)so you can get them through doors. You attatch the colums together somehow to make as many combined as possible. These completely BLOW AWAY any other racks made out of the typical cage building materials, like melamine, flat sheet plastic, or metal tubing.
Habitat Systems is one of the only true 'real' companies out there (as in having a location, paying rent, overhead, etc)- not the others who advertise as being so - they're not by a long shot compared to these guys.

How are they heated? What are they using for the tops?
I am interested as we have picked up more balls and now looking at the different racks that are out there. The wood racks are just to heavy.

They have heat tape on sliding plastic bars so that you can place the heat anywhere you want. They can also make the bars as long as you want so say you have three racks side by side the bar will go all the way across the three racks. The top is a rigid mesh, it's either hard plastic or plastic coated.

Very nice, thanks. Can't wait to see a price and when they will be available.

What are the sizes of the tubs? Will there be a large as well as medium size available? Thanks.

Tegan Aug 30, 2004 08:31 PM

Right now the prototype is for the Iris CB-70 tubs. But Tom said there wasn't any reason he couldn't make a rack for any sized tub....since it's all custom work anyway.

Any more info on the racks. I sent them an email but looks like I am not going to get a response.
