Lighting for anole

bird_of_prey May 14, 2003 06:56 PM

What type of lighting is required for a green anole?

Also, should I buy a hood to cover the tank? Or a srceen with a lamp?

Thanks a million!

Rick

Depends on your climate. I used a regular aquarium hood, and drilled a ton of holes in the lid (the part that lifts up). I took out the glass so that it wouldn't interfere with the UVB from the light. If you are talking about green anoles, this is an option, they can't lift the lid and escape.
Anything else, use a screen top. You'll need a UVB producing flourescent reptile light for anoles.
