what would it be? Mine would have to be a copperhead. Not that theyre expensive I just dont think I could handle it but I think they are gorgeous.

Oh man,
Black headed python...hands down.
Right now, my snake of obession is the Dharman Ratsnake [Ptyas mucosa, Ptyas korros], unfortunately no one seems to sell them in the pet trade. If you're unfamiliar with them, they are a large [10 ft. plus] colubrid that can be found all throughout the region of the Indian subcontinent. They're drab brownish in color and are often mistaken for cobras. Apparently very pugnacious too. *Sigh*, just wish some one would import some.

I have kept all my dream snakes except one. That would be the African Mole Snake: Pseudodaspis cana. While a common snake where they come from, very few make it to the USA and those are extremely over priced.

I had a jet black WC Mole Snake for a little under a year (it died of some mysterious ailment). It was one of the coolest beasts I have ever owned, and I have kept a LOT of different snakes!
This is the only pic I ever took of my favorite snake. I tried like heck to find a female for it, but this was back in the days before the internet, and searching was difficult.

This is a hard question to answer. I am not generally interested in the high end morphs a lot of people pursue. Believe it or not I really like my Garters and would always want some in my collection. A "dream" snake of mine would be the Two-Striped Garter. I grew up around these in southern Calif and they have a nostalgic value for me but they are now protected in Calif where they are found so I can not acquire any. I have always admired Cantils but I am not a hot keeper and my state does not allow their import. I might get into some of the Western Rat Snakes and maybe some Mexican Pituophis.
When I get out of the house and feel trained enough...:
Gaboon Viper
Northern Copperhead
Eyelash Viper
Brazlilian Rainbow Boa
Emerald Tree Boa
Not all of those are overly difficult... but I don't have the space and can't keep venomous right now (for many reasons).
I couldn't name just one

Jeff
Rubidis?? Beautiful animal! looks like it has a lot of personality.
Bob.
WOW! I am impressed.. Someone here knows their Drymarchon, other then Frank! ;0)
Yeah, that is one of my male D. c rubidus (Mexican red-tail cribo)Rare then hens teeth, as Fred Albury likes to refer to them, I currently have 4.4 of these guys, including 1.1 of the mottled form..
Great job!
Jeff
But I didn't realize they were THAT rare. I check up on you DRY guys. You run A cool forum. It didn't really sink in until now that while I probably wont be able to own an Eastern Indigo, I stand an even smaller chance of the next best thing. Congratulations,I hope you realize how blessed you are to be able to work with such sharp animals! Enjoy. Bob.
About a year and a half ago, I was shooting a little documentary about snakes here in the Houston area for the local PBS station. It was my pleasure to include Paul Freed of the Houston zoo in that piece. As he was showing me all the interesting animals there, he asked me what I had in my collection. I told him about my cal kings, my albino bulls, but when I mentioned my subocs, he lit up. "Well, those are interesting", he said.
Everybody that comes over to look at my snakes love the subocs. That's fine with me, because above all the critters I love the subocs the most. Don't get me wrong, all the snakes get the same care as the subocs, but those are the ones that would stay if I had to get rid of all the others. Suffice it to say, I love subocs.
So, in answer to the question, if I had my choice, I would take any morph of the suboc. Particulary, I think the blonde phase is beautiful.
Cheers!
I have mine, green Vines Snakes. they are awesome eat rodents and are harmless. I would also like to keep(successfully) tentacled snakes(Herpeton tentaculatum. I try once and failed.
If you could own just one snake...
For my I'm living it. I'm a student and don't have the space or time for more than one animal...but I have the one animal I've always wanted, an Eastern Indigo.
albino bermese! they are so beautiful. maybe some day...
Or a Yellow anaconda..but I just absolutely love the Indigos....I know I will never get one but I can dream..

I would have to say a lavander tiger retic. Those snakes are sumpin else. No space tho, and not nearly enough money. More realisticly, i would love to keep a piebald ball python. Alittle less realistically (money wise) would be the diamond leusistic ball. Most likely in my future, i see a GTP...that is not *quite* my dream snake as listed above, but i think that they are amazing and are becomming more and more affordable as time goes on. Honestly, tho, i wouldnt give up my first snake for ANY of those listed above. My normal (albiet more yellow than most) BP Azazel. Best snake ever to slither the earth.

A lot of nice choices! I've kept a lot of animals over the years but right now I'm really enjoying some plain black snakes, exceptionally black Mex. Black kings and Black milks.Sweet personalities, awesome plain underated and often overlooked beauty. It's impossible to keep them all. Good herping.
Bob.
my dream snake would be a hypo coastal plains milksnake
