I said I was sorry, it was a mistake. I accidentally posted your picture. No biggie! You're not doing anything wrong. Whats the worry? Where are the copyright laws under that picture? C'mon this is being way overblown, you cant be serious.
Hey jelly beanie is that one of christy's students ? I didnt know they were able to keep monitors and such.
Hi Harley,

Thanks Bob, I was trying my best to get the best shot I could of their teeth. They're pretty impressive huh? Glad you enjoyed them!
the crocs are nice too
here's some teeth from an eight footer...I'd sure hate to get tagged by one of them...
cheers
bob

those are huge, they are almost the size of my ferrets teeth.
Hey mister, ever had your ferrets attack you? haaaaaaaaaaheeeeeeeee!
yeah they have bit me. Guess what. It hurts and you get stitches well if you go to the DR.. If your like me you get a scar.
Thanks for sharing, Bob. Nice sized teeth. Those aint nothin to play with. The teeth are usually small and serrated but the spirit behind it, typically determines the severity of the bite.
during a feeding mistake.Hope none of you ackie loving guys take these on, but if you decide to, best of luck!

Dude, that's one nasty shot you took! And just from a 3 footer......yikes!!!!!!
>>enjoy

If that's from a 4' animal, think about the damage a 6, 7, or even 8 footer would do...Chances are, your hand would be maimed for the rest of your life, as tendons, ligaments, muscles, blood vessels, and skin woould be torn beyond full repair....Thanks for showing us... Cheers..

Not to mention the infection from the nefarious bacteria in their mouths; a zoo-keeper I know from midwest zoo was bitten in 2001 and has never fully recovered - he has some kind of 'bacteria/organsism' in his circulatory system that they cannot identify hence nullify its effects on him....so much we do not know of this apex predator...

Now don't forget boys and girls: Always wear your gloves and always use your tongs, lol
WOW-
That is a BAD BITE...looks like a shark bite its so clean cut (Which I have seen close up)!
Any way I could get a slide/print of that for my records/future publications?
Thanx for sharing,
mbayless
Hi, Mark. The interesting thing is he didnt even clamp down . It could have been much worse.
No problem, I'll send it to you via snail mail
As my husband quotes, and I'm sorry that I'm not sure where the quote came from, "Anyone with a lot of patience and a well stocked first aid kit can tame a monitor." I've gotten dog bites that didn't do that much damage.

I've been incredibly lucky so far. There's no doubt in my mind that my 3 ft Bosc could do some major damage... I've seen her tear into a live rat now and then.. (Rare even that she's allowed to chase live rats but its stimulating for her mentally and I tend to think they should have that as well as a good environment) Talk about major surface damage...and her teeth are small in comparison. Despite this... and her propensity for leaping for food...I still hand feed her and haven't had a mishap yet.. I do expect to be bitten any time though and thats my risk to take. I enjoy the level of interaction it provides and the trust it inspires. She's not tame....she's acclimated to human presence.. but far from tame or laid back...She's a monitor...albeit a bit on the heavy side which I'm trying to correct.. *L* I wouldn't recommend it for every Bosc keeper or even most keepers...but those that know their animals despite their unpredictability...have a smaller window for errors...though bites can and will occur when you have wild animals in your home. Its a simple fact. Its even a fact with domestic animals.
