Hey I've had a male bearded dragon for about a year and a half now and I was wondering if it would be ok to put a female in there with him? And should i get the same size as him? Thanks!

Bearded dragons should be housed separately, males and females are only put together briefly for mating purposes. Males will harrass and overbreed a female, so it is not in the best interest of the female to keep them together.

Splurge on a second cage and setup if you splurge on a second dragon.
Dragons of the opposite sex should be housed separately, because, as the other response said, males will likely give the females no peace and can cause her to be stressed (not to mention perpetually gravid which is both unhealthy and results in babies that require an enormous amount of time, money and attention to raise properly). In addition, stress lowers the immune system, appetite, etc, resulting in sad, sick dragons.
Two males should never be housed together. Two females can be, but you must take proper quarantine precautions and be certain of the sex (Which, as many other people can tell you, isn't always easy!).
Best,
Michele

No, it's NOT a big house
Just to answer your other question:
Yes, any dragon housed with another must be of a comparable size or you run the risk of the smaller dragon being dominated by the other and getting less food and less optimum basking. Worst case scenario, the smaller dragon (or bits therof) becomes a snack
