Pacman frog eating habits

moko Aug 26, 2004 12:35 PM

Clover is a crickets only girl. I do dust the crickets with herp vites, but worry this is not a good enough diet for her. She refuses fish although that is what was recommended from the people who bred her. Also I have tried pinkies (I have them on hand for my corns, Ziggy and Tango), but she will not eat them. I have tried waiting four days to feed her-nothing. Now I am trying six days and it is killing me, I hope not her. She is very well fed and looks plumpish (we don't like the f word).

try offering the food items with a tong.
My frogs never pick up their own food...they only take it from the tongs.
But be careful!!

what other feeders have u tried

wax worms are no good as a staple but may get it eating again, its about the only feeder my pacman will actually get up and 'chase'

sometimes it will just refuse any food and i assume its just not hungry. try some earthworms or locust !!

thats odd my pacman "chases" everything i give him even if he's eaten well. For example, today i put a pinkie in the cage and he literally jumped on it. He also has hunted down and eaten two extra crickets in the cage after downing one cricket and two rosy reds that day.

i dont often give it the opertunity to hunt very often which could be why, i mainly use tongs, most of the time tho its just sits and waits for the meal to come to it, a large locust will cometimes get its attention, crickets running about the tank are generally ignored lol
