Trying to get in touch with Don Soderberg of South Mountain Reptiles

nathaniel777 Aug 26, 2004 02:16 PM

I have been trying to reach Don Soderberg by phone and by email for the last couple weeks. The phone just beeps as if it's off line (I've called numerous times, day and night, it never rings), and I never receive a reply when I send emails. I prepaid Don for several snakes back in June of 2004 and I haven't spoken to him since, the eggs were not do to hatch until late July, early August. I don't know if something happened to him, or if their was a family emergency, maybe his business number has changed or his email has changed. If anyone knows what is going on with Don, or can help me get in contact with him, I would appreciate it. I just want to get the snakes I paid for, or my money back. If something is going on in his personal life, I can wait, that's no problem. I would just like to know what's going on.

Thanks,

Nate.

Don is pretty darn up on his customer service, typically... I wonder what's going on.

The last time I emailed him was late July, and he was still responding then. (cornsnakes@aol.com is his email)

He does have some problems with some ISPs bouncing his reply emails... Try including your phone number and area code in your email to him, and see if he gives you a call.

"Mice. And rats. If that bothers you, I can call them 'cows' instead."

Thanks Kat,

I have left my phone number in my emails to Don, I'll try the cornsnakes@aol.com address and see what happens.

Thanks again,

Nate.

and everything seemed fine then. I am sure it must be a temporary problem - maybe he did have to go out of town or something like that or had an emergency as you suggested. But I don't think it is anything long term that you have to worry about. I am sure he will get back to you as soon he is able to. As Kat said, he is known for great customer service. As she also said, we all get emails that just won't go through for some reason, so always include a phone number just in case yours is one of those.

Thanks Kathy,

Nate:

I get over 75 emails a day and answer all of them. Some days over 100. I have not received one from you so you might be sending to the wrong person OR my infamous AOL spam fighter doesn't like you. Our voice mail holds quite a few messages each day and I get over 30 phone calls daily. I have not received one from you.

We're still shipping lots of corns that were purchased before the hatch. We contact people once the snakes have successfully fed several times. If you have not yet been contacted, it's because either we're not down to your name on the list OR because we've been pretty busy lately. Either way, I assure your snakes are safe and sound here. I see that your order included several different trios of corns. Orders for one type are easy and fast to fill whereas orders with several types require a little more time to have all three or four trios feeding and ready for shipping. I'm sure we're ready to ship yours so give us a call or write.

Been pretty busy shuffling between cages since the hatch began. Still over 2,500 hatchlings demanding my time and I confess I have been giving them priority over calling folks about their preseason orders. This weekend, we'll call or write to another batch of customers, but in the meantime, feel free to write or call. I assure you we get dozens of calls daily and the phones are working fine. We have voice mail so if you're not getting our recording, you're calling the wrong number.

I just wrote to three people asking them to click on the email address on my web site and got all three test letters from them. I've been on the phone all morning and just got home to find six voice mail messages on it. I get many voice mail messages daily. Not sure what's happening, but I sure would be aware if my email and phone messages stopped. What a vacation that would be.

Regarding your order. You ordered in June. We have filled preseason orders placed in June for most of the snakes you ordered and I'm sure we'd be able to ship to you right away.

I got your email this afternoon and responded so if you have any other questions, our virtual lines of communication seem to be open now.

Nate...

I see Don replied already..but just wanted to say he's a TOP quality guy and his snakes are fantastic. My wife and I got 6 hatchlings from him last year and couldn't be happier !

You're going to be REALLY happy when you receive those snakes .
