How does Kevin arrive at this answer ?
Hmmmmmm.......?
Is that Boa a "Firebellie" ? Hermann's got a Great web-site ! ! Have A Good One ! !
Kenneth
Yes it is a Roatan Isle F/B
Its from the Sargent line which is "not" the same as the Dyer mainland line.I`m looking for the people here in the States that still have the specific lines that havent been crossed. Some say theres no difference but from what I`ve been told as well as seen they look like completely different lines.
Hopefully not to many people have crossed the two ??I know of some that have both and have plans to breed which doesnt set well with myself and acouple others.
input......... ?

The only "True Firebellies" are one's that can be traced back to "Dennis Sargent's Line" no other's should be called F/B's "The Dyer mainland Line" would most like'ly be of the "Honduran Mainland Dwarf" with some specimens having Red Belly's but by no mean's "True Firebellies" I think if anyone has F/B's that can be traced to Dennis Sargent, it would be "Very Foolish" to not Breed them True/Pure even if they have to do a joint "Breeding Effort" any other Breeding of either line would produce Cross's,in which niether Line would be Pure. Good Luck,in tracking down the True Firebellies,I Wish You Luck ! !
Have A Good One ! !
Kenneth
Dennis' line of Firebellies are from founder animals collected on Roatan and the births and boas mentioned in our posts below are in fact Firebellies from Dennis' '01 and '02 breedings of these founders.
We also believe in maintaining the lineage of these animals as island specific and have hopes of providing F2 Firebellies in '05
Hi Kevin,
Wow you are a "Lucky Man" to have Livestock like that ! !Sound's like your ready,Good Luck,in your Project for"2005" ! You dont by chance have any Pic.'s of your Animal's do you ? I'd Love to see em !Good Luck Again, with your Firebellies in the Future ! !
Have A Good One ! !
Kenneth
Heres my understanding to date;
Crutchfield brought`em in
Sargent*
MaCuade*
Harding*
Mead*
Were the ones that purchased the entire lot,Mead isnt known to still have them ??
When Sargent sold out,he sold to 3 people all of which were in Fla.(So far only 1 has been confirmed by myself)
Of which was a joint purchase by Reeferman*(sp*?)and Lockett
Their purchase consisted of Roatan`s exclusively.
Lockett had a litter this year4/04 from litter mates, this is where I got my female Roatan.
After I speak with Kevin,I`m thinking some things may get clear on some grey info ?? maybe not ?? LOL!!
GREAT NEWS ............
Sargent is planning to crank up the Roatans again!! pending a litter due out soon from another source!!:woot: !!

He has owned 11 of them, seen both litters at birth in '01 and '02, investigated the documentation of the founders and still has 2.2 of the best of the '01 and '02 babies. More to come in another year or so!
