I am going to buy a ceramic heat source to keep the temp in the high 80's...will a 150 watt be to much?

thanks

What are you talking about? Like a heat rock or something they lay on? Or are you talking about something hanging that they cant touch?

It depends on how large your tank is.If its a 20 gallon long 150 watts from 12 inches is way too much I would say a 75 watt zoo-med would get it about the right temp.

Another idea that may work for you, and is cheaper than those lights is a human heating pad. They make them large enough for a 20 gallon to have a hot and cool side, you can regulate temps by switching settings, and a simple blue night light works for watching them. Just an idea
