feeding and growth question

skmcwilliams Aug 26, 2004 08:01 PM

I got two baby ball pythons at the Daytona show and fed them twice on live mice fuzzies. I wanted to switch them to F/T and I just got them frozen today at a pet store and they took to them just fine. So now I am ordering from RodentPro because my friend also has a snake so will split shipping with me but my question is you have to order a quantity of a 100 which is fine with me because shipping is so high I would rather stock up now but if I order 100 fuzzies will they grow out of them before I use up the 100 or should I split the order of fuzzies/hoppers if they will let me. I have done a ton of research but it is still hard for me (not previously having a snake) to guess how big it's going to get in relation to size of food that it needs. Please help, I want to order tomorrow. Thanks

Well, technically it would be helpful to know the weight in grams of your baby ball pythons in order to give the best answer. I suppose its possible you could have some really small ones. But it's probably safe to say - skip the fuzzies and hoppers if they're already feeding for you. Buy some small adult mice and/or rat fuzzies. You'll soon have a feel for the size of prey item your snakes can engulf.
