Yeah that one confused me for a while too. Essentially it is hibernation for reptiles/amphibians.

pretty much a frog's way to cope with adverse conditions. Whether it is too hot, too cold, or too dry, the frog can go into brumation/estivation and remain dormant, depending on the species, for years at a time. A mucous layer is secreted and surrounds the frog. It basically seals in moisture with the frog and allows it to retain the water it already has.

I wish I could do that when conditions got adverse.

Thanks again. So far, the bugger is too busy eating to do much more than burrow into the dirt in between meals. However, I won't let it get me if it does this . . . I will try the misting trick like suggested on another thread.
