Thermometer Difference

morgandragon Aug 27, 2004 11:08 AM

I have been using the anolog thermomters (think that is what they are called, the round ones with the needle) for the longest time. Since I have been reading this forum I noticed that many recommend digital. So I bought a cheap ESU($8) digital thermometer.

Question: The anolog thermometer said the basking was 115 degrees. The digital say around 101. (Basking spot is for an adult beardie)Can there be this much of a varience between the two thermometers? Do you think that the digital thermometer because it is small and cheap is not as accurate? Should I try buying a more expensive digital thermometer. Are there any that people use that are around $40 that they find accurate?

Thanks in advance
