Here in So. Calif. we are very emergency prepared. Just wondering if any keeps a first aid kit for the BPs? And what might be in it? Not the kind of kit I would need if/when I got bit, but to keep my animals healthy.

Mineral Oil (incase someone gets stuck in tape)
Flagyl and Panacure (for worming new animals as they come in)
Baytril (for respiritory infections - expensive, don't buy it until you need it the firt time!)
Anti fungal cream (tinactin, lamasil, etc) incase someone comes in with some sort of skin fungus
Athlete's foot powder (for moldy eggs)
Antibiotic Ointment - for skin abrasions, cuts, rodent bites, skin tears, etc.
Probes
Hypodermic needles (without the needle for worming, with for baytril)
Tweezers
Scissors
Scotch tape (handy for removing an eyecap)
Provent (for mites and ticks in new animals coming in)
Is Provent expensive? how much is it?

It runs about $20 per can - but it's an aerosol can and it goes ALONG WAY....you can get it online or find it at most shows. I can't believe how well it works!
Christy
so, you would recommend that to someone who has a snake with mites???
and also, does it completely wipe them out??
thanks...
