Veiled Chameleon

qwik92rs Aug 27, 2004 05:09 PM

Hi, I just bought a baby Veiled Chameleon. Is keeping it in a 20 gallon aquarium ok for its health? Any other tips for keeping it healthy?

Thank you,
Joe

No, don't keep it in a glass aquarium. You'll need a screen cage. VC's need lots of ventilation with a basking area of 85*-90*. Cool spot of around 75*.

How old is this baby? When they are very tiny you can use a glass tank TEMPORARILY and with lots of close attention. But, I hope you have read about keeping chams already, as you are in for a lot of work in terms of caging and care. To get you started, there are good basic care and setup info articles on these sites. Good luck!
