Disinfecting Tank

spot012 Aug 28, 2004 11:16 AM

I recently lost my leo to crypto and need to disinfect the tank before getting another of course. I have ammonia to use but I'm not sure how much of it to use or how much water to use. I really need to do this today so any help would really be appriciated. Thanks

Full strength, let it sit for AT LEAST 30-45 minutes.

What do you mean full strength? Shouldn't the ammonia and water be measured out or something?

No, only full strength ammonia is strong enough to kill the oocysts. I also forgot to mention that you should boil all the cage furniture you plan to reuse.

Besure to do it outside or in a well ventilated room. Wouldn't want you getting a good wiff of that ammonia and passing out
