Different Looking Borneo or is it just me?

Hbluedevilh Aug 28, 2004 01:21 PM

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at this female blood. She was WC but to me looks a little different. It may just be me or it may not. She looks very similar to Borneo but for some odd reason (because of her pattern and head) I'm thinking she may be a natural cross???

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lu

Very interesting! It does look like a cross with maybee a red or something... but I dont know that thats geographically possible. Could be a Sarawak or a regular Borneo x Sarawak, or just a weird Borneo theres all sortsa crazy variations? Nice looking snake at any rate!

I would suggest going to this sight were you will find the differance in the three blood's scalation (Head & belly). You can then count your blood's scales and if you find any discrepancies or if it seems she has caracteristics of more then just a Borneo then you know she is a cross if she does not then you have a good idea that she is not a cross

Hey,
This animal for all intents and purpose does look to me like it is a possible cross, between a Borneo x Sumatran Red, although, these two species do not cross paths in their respective habitats and countries, as they hail from entirely different countries.

Parts of the snake (Blood/short-tail?) appear to have a Sarawak look to it, while the rear portion and the sides or flanks appear to have a Red blood appearance.

Is there any other information on it from VPI?
