Can anybody help me?
My 4 year old Leopard started gasping for air and he sort of foaming at the mouth!! I gave him some water and cooled him down because her was outside in the basking in the sun. Does anybody have any ideas!!!!

If it is still alive it should be ok.
Your tortoise overheated from being left out in the sun. You have to be careful to provide shade when it is left outside.
Outside of cooling it down there is not much else you can do but hope.

Trying to keep the fun in Chelonian care
thanks a lot EJ, that is what seems to have happened. I put him back in his cage and he started digging (i think to find a cooler bedding). He stopped gasping for air, thank god. He seems to be getting back to normal, and we've been keeping a close eye on him. Thanks!
That happened to my friends leopard tort too. He seememd to have suffered no ill effects, you just have to watch out when they are outside on hot days. Make sure that he is very well hydrated too. I would soak him again tonite just to be sure. good luck
