Rat eating - how can I make it easier?

brianz Aug 28, 2004 03:17 PM

I've upgraded my 900g 5-foot corn to small rats, which she eats with gusto. However, she has trouble getting her little mouth around the arms. She'll work her way down the head and neck, but once she gets to the arms, she thrashes around in frustration because it takes her 10 minutes to wrap her mouth around one arm and then the other. Even when I pull the arms out and downward, they tend to stick out rigidly after defrosting.

How can I make it easier? Should I just cut them off? Will they bleed? I don't want this to get too gross...

Thanks,

Brian

Simple,
Feed her smaller rats.
