Frozen Mixed Veggies??

MorganAndJon Aug 28, 2004 05:20 PM

We just brought home our 1 1/2 month old Beardie today. I read somewhere that they will eat frozen mixed veggies. Has anyone had any success with this? Do you actually cook them first or just let them thaw out? Are there any veggies that come in the "frozen mixed" bags to avoid?
Thanks :O)

I use the mixed veggies with the rest of my salad but not alone. They still need the dark leafy green stuff like collard, mustard, kale etc. I mix the stuff in with all that after I cut the pieces into smaller ones. Don't cook them just thaw them. I avoid the corn until they are much bigger because corn does not digest very easily and I am concerned with impaction.

Also if there are carrots in them be carefull how much you give the babiues as If I'm not mistaken carrots are high in phospherous. Too much will cause the ratio of calcium to phospherous to be unbalanced and the phospheruos will block calcium absorbtion. For more info check out www.beautifuldragons.com. Veronicas web site has a list of veggies that are good to feed and not so good to feed as well as some other cool stuff.
