They are Beautiful! So neat to see what my babies will grow up to look like, although mine are NY locale and from what I read the farther north, the less color, so mine might not look as nice as yours. I like the integrade too, very pretty.

Thanks Lyn
The easterns are pretty variable here in KY too. It seems that they get a grayish overcast to them as they age. The prairie kings and corns here are the same way. Guess its just a locale thing!

Hotshot,
Do you ever come across the 'green phase' eastern milks from central and eastern ky? They were extremely common when I lived down there. Just wondering if you have any pics of those.

KK,
no I havent came across anything like that yet. The two I have came from Meade county, and I have came across some nice looking easterns and intergrades in Hardin county as well. But if I do come across them, I will definitely take some pics and post them!! Once it starts cooling off the milks should be out again before going into brumation.

They used to be very common along the roadside rock cuts in central/eastern kentucky when I lived there. Garter snakes seem to enjoy these rock cuts as well and you will find a lot of them along with the milks.

I'll have to dig out some of my old slides and 35mm prints. The digital age has passed me by.

Ken,
Ill definitely keep my eyes open for them this fall. I have been checking out some rock cuts here in Hardin county and looking at the scorpion population. Pretty wild. Alot more than 90% of Kentuckians know about!!!!
This is a good shot of one I took...
