Lights for at night

I use a blacklight bulb at night for my 2 leos but i was thinking of switching to red light bulbs is there any special red bulb or could i just buy a red bulb at the hardware store

I think any red light works. They see in b&w so they only see red as a shade of gray. So, it doesn't bother them because it isn't very bright. That's my 2cents lol

I use the balcklights in my large boa cage. IMO the blacklight is great to use for night lighting...not too bright and doesn't give off a lot of heat or use a lot of electricity. If you want to switch to a good lighting system for night light, you could try the red rope lighting available at Lowe's or Home Depot. I use it for light and heat on my rack. They have a very long bulb life and look pretty nice. A 6' length should cost about $7. And you could use it across several enclosures if they are close to each other.
