After the terrarium was finished for the pumilios, which won't arrive until I come up on the waiting list, I found another place to stick a viviarum, so am planning it now. I've ordered four D. leukomelas froglets that will be ready to ship in a month or two, then will stay in a nursery for awhile, so I have some time for planning and building. Instead of the deeper waterways and falls I now have in two of the vivariums, I want to plan something similar to Homer's with some spread out water trickling over smooth, flat stone. I'm wondering if leuks will utilize and appreciate it like Homer's tincs seem to do-- which is the crux I need your opinions upon. I'll probably use a 49 gallon bow tank because it will fit in the space I found and go with the other 72 gallon bows that are set around the round the opening of a spiral staircase that ascends into the library.
#2-- I'm also considering ordering two more orange and black galacs from a different blood line than those I have now. I have three in the long 135 gallon paludarium/aquarium and there is still plenty of terrarium territory left. The three seem to be all one sex, but I've never determined which. They neither call, nor do they ever fight. They may still be too young to show breeding personalities, since I got them as froglets last summer and understand they are slower to mature than the thumbnails. One in particular is quite fat and appears to be decidedly female, while the other two, although not exactly sylphs, appear more slender and masculine in physique. They all get along, often sharing the same caves or bromeliad leaves, cuddling together when resting, independent when hunting. Should I give them more time to mature before making a decision to chance another introduction?
