I was looking at prices to overnight some geckos to a customer in southern cal. I am in nj, and on ups and fedex it said it would cost about 100 dollars?!?!? Is this right? Is that standard cost? anyone know a cheaper way for me?
Thanks,
Chris

Sounds like dimensional weight. I'm not familiar with fedex but I know with UPS if my dimensions (Length X width X height) is greater than 1900 (I think), I get charged as though the item weighs (length X width X height)/192 pounds.
In other words, adding one inch to each side of the box may make UPS charge me for a 10 pound package instead of a 2.
Only way around it is to use a smaller box or call and ask them how to do it. Again, my experience is only UPS, so fedex rules may be different.
