Q on vapor smell

I have just set up a humidifier system, similar to ones outlined in this forum. The vapor has a sort of sour smell to it, the instructions say to replace the filter and use distilled water. I use brita filtered water, and will not be able to replace the filter until next week.

Is this smelly vapor ok to use with my dragon?
