Shedding problem?

crtoon83 Aug 29, 2004 04:48 PM

My two baby bairds shed today...kinda. The female had no problem, when I came home for lunch I noticed the male had started and he's got pieces and parts coming off of him...the humidity of his cage should be perfectly fine...its the same all my other snakes' are and they havent ever had any problems....should i try maybe soaking him? i've heard of this but never been too sure and never paid much attention since mine never had a problem (stupid i know..)

Thanks,
Chris

I tried putting warm wet paper towels in the bottom of the kritter keeper put him in it and the problem there is they got cold too fast. then i tried soaking him in water, and running a warm paper towel over his body inbetween. If you've ever had a real bad sunburn and then your skin starts peeling off...thats what he's like. Any more ideas?

What I usually do if I have a problem shedder is get a regular dish towel and wet it with warm water then ring it out so it's damp but warm. Place the snake inside a sealed container, like a plastic shoe box with the warm towel for like 20 mins.Make sure there are are holes though... Works everytime I have tried it...
