burm caging

I'm going to need two cages soon..around 6'x3'x2'. They seem to cost around 375-425 each. Would it be easier just to build my own? Granted, they don't have to be super fancy, they just need to get the job done.

Build your own. I am buildin a system of 2 that are 8' long 29" deep and 18" tall (each). They are put together but the room inside is what I said. I made it out of wafer board which works fine if you paint it and do not let it get just flat out wet. Of couse use 2 X 2's and hings to brace. In all with the heat tape and everythign it is about $125=$150. Thta is for the 8' enclosures not 6'. You do plan on puting male in it don't you? I think 6' for a female woul be a little small.

A female would be going into one, but it is not a permanent cage. I'm looking for something temporary to last her a couple of years. She's only about 2' now. Thanks for the help.

Oh, ok. It should be fine. You are not planning on putting her in ther right now are you. I would wait till she is about 4'. I'll go into detail if needed latter ont his subject.

No, I wouldn't be putting her in it right away. She's still got time to grow. I may be adopting another burm though, this one about 4.5' so I'll need a cage for that one sooner. The baby probably won't get hers until December or so. If you could go into more detail about your cage or post a couple of pictures, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. =)
