Handling - in cage - Jinxed myself!

dmlove Aug 29, 2004 06:32 PM

Hey i must have jinxed myself when i said he was no problem handling. It also might have been because this was BEFORE feeding and he was really hungry. He was hissing and whipping in the cage, and when i got him out he just whipped so yeah...is this normal, or is he just being a mean little one? Thanks!

Hey,

Meego used to get agitated when he was little if the hands came in to pick him up, instead of bringing food. A lot of times we would feed him, let him bask for a while, then pick him up, and he was perfectly calm. It seems that when they are hungry, it is all they can think about!!

Hope this helps!!

I don't believe that food is the issue. I have a two month old Arg B and W that is very protective of his cage but once I pick him up he calms right down. I think it just takes a while for them to get used to a giant human hand coming down and picking them up. Also the larger they get the less fearful they become. Good Look
