problem shed

burningwings Aug 29, 2004 06:33 PM

i have a year old kingsnake that has shed several times since i've had him without problems. however this last time a small piece at the end of the tail did not come off. it is very small, about 2 centimeters. i tried to pull it off but he was moving around too much. should i leave him alone until his next shed? he has been shedding every few weeks. and if i should remove it myself any suggestions on how would be greatly appreciated.

I would definitely get it off if it's not already. Find a clean container or tupperware with a lid and soak him in a few inches of warm water for a little bit. You can GENTLY rub from head to tail and work ot off with out trouble. If it sticks soak some more. I'm not a vet but it's worked very well for me.
