easy outside enclosure... help please...

breakfastatme Jun 25, 2003 09:01 AM

With the weather getting nice in Wisconsin, I would like to make an area in my back yard for my 2 box turtles. They will only be out there when we are out there. We spend a great deal of time out side in the summer and would love for them to join us. If anyone has any pics or ideas I would really appreciate it. I have screen cages for my bearded and collared, but would also like to share the space and the weather with my turtles.

Thanks!!

Use cinderblocks... you'll need a wall 12" high or more, but you can make a decent temporary enclosure pretty quickly. They are also fairly cheap ($1 each). If you stack them, just be sure to do so carefully so they dont topple over.

I spent two years designing my pens and a whole summer building it, but I love it and so do the turtles I have pictures of it and I'll try to get them up on the gallery and will let you know when they are up.

It is worth every penny you spend, and all the time and effort to build something really nice and elaborate. You and the turtles can enjoy it for years and years.
