Keep them well hydrated & soak them while in shed & you won't have to buy anything for shedding.

I say some product to aid in shedding and I was wondering if they really work, or a waste of money.

Vaseline works great on sheds, as the jelly gets into the skin and helps lift it out. Put Vaseline on the skin area and leave it there for a few days. As the beardie continues to bask, the heat from the lamp or the sun will help shed the skin. Then you can just peel it off like an onion skin.

I agree that the water is the best way during sheds. I also have been trying out T-rex BIO MIST. It works great and seems to help the shed off better as it moisturizes the area as well. I use it of an evening and soak in warm water in the mornings. ( the morning soak also cuts back on cage defacation.} Can you imagine defacateing a cage? Although, it would help on cutting costs...... and it would be a natural fertalizing self sustaing ecosystem for nasty bugs that you could use as feed. and peple wouldn't know what you meant when you said eat cage. LOL

Reptile (well, pets in general I suppose) care has become sort of like human baby care.
You can go into a store and find a zillion and one products designed for just about any purpose you can conceive of and a few you probably never thought of until you saw the package. Some are indeed very useful, even necessary, and some can be duplicated far more cheaply than a purchased specialized product. (Which often vary widely in quality and actual usefulness) Which means you can save your money for things that you do actually *need*.
Well-hydrated healthy dragons rarely have problems shedding, though you do want to keep an eye on the tail tip and toe areas. Like noted elsewhere, products you already have at home, like a little oil, can be used if you do encounter any difficulties. Do note that dragons normally shed in pieces and rarely all at once.
Best,
Michele
