P. Rugosus

Hey Gordon,
I thought I'd post about this as it was new to me. As you probably know I moved to Arizona. Well, when we moved in it was a rainy day or two and we had Rugosus everywhere around the house in the mornings and evenings. After about a week or two I just stopped seeing them. Every morning and evening I would check the holes but there was zero activity. Well, the other night I was taking the trash cans down the driveway to the street and there were Rugosus everywhere. I started looking at all the dry holes and sure enough they were all teeming with ants. I find this a little odd because I can drive about a mile into the Tonto forest and find them there both in the mornings and evenings.
Anyway it was interesting finding rugosus at night like that. I didn't expect it.
I'd sure be interested in any comments or similar observations.
Cheers!

Congrats on the move, I was unaware you had done so.
I have noticed some similar behavior with several of the Pogonomyex colonies at my house. I'm not sure what causes its although from what I have seen here it correlates to temperature, but I'm honestly not sure and there could be a combination of factors at work here. Good luck in Az.
Gordon
