I have a baby ball python, i've only had him for a few months. Today i was handling him and i got little black bugs all over my hands that looked like poppy seeds, and i noticed a couple ticks latched onto his body and then there were a bunch of black poppy seed like things in his water dish. I am pretty possitive its mites and ticks i called the vet and i'm taken him in wednesday because that was the earliest i could get an appointment. I was just curious for anyone who may have had experience with this how difficult it is to get rid of these parasites and how would be a good way to avoid getting them again in the futue?
