T-Rex Uro Dust, can I use Dragon or Iguana dust from T-Rex??

jack7777766 Aug 30, 2004 02:48 PM

Hey All,
Ive wwanted to try the uro dust for my uro but they dont carry it in any of the stores I was wondering since they do have the bearded dragon and iguana dust also cricket dust and a bunch more, if any of those are similar and can be used, since I remember that for my crested I used gargoyle diet and it was the exact same thing with a little more protein.

Thanks
Jack

I'd suggest you ask if the store can order in the uro dust. If they carry other T-rex stuff, it shouldn't be an issue for them to add that to their order. Worth checking out, and in my opinion, it's probably better to stick to the dust that made for that particular animal.

Yeah I was thinking of doing that, but I thought maybe if one of the other worked I could avoid the hasle.

Actually, all of the T-rex supplements are the same. The ICBs are the exact same formula, and are okay for any insectivorous reptile, just as the VGFs (the one you'll want to use for uros' veggies) are all the same. They are marketed in species-specific containers only for marketing purposes. So yes, by all means, use the iguana dust for your uro.

I don't know this particular product, but if you choose to go with one of the ones they have in stock, I'd stick to the iguana one, since they are herbivorous and the beardie formula might have too much protien. Just a distant observation!

Thansk guys,

I asked one store to order it but they didnt so I got the iguana one from another store.
From sandfires site they do seem to have the exact same ingredients although in different quantities, but the iguana VMF was pretty close, so Ill give it a shot until I get the other.

Thanks
Jack

The iguana type is VMF but the uro brand is VF so they're not the same thing. The closest one is the tortoise formula, it is also VF formula.

Good luck
