Is it normal?

My 4 turts have been shedding feathery things..all 4...is this ok? theyre not totally COVERED in it, but they are semi coated in it very lightly, when will it go away? it makes the water look gross!

I think what you are describing is shedding skin. The "feathery things" that you describe are only on the skin, not the shell? A bit of shedding is fairly normal...if it becomes frequent or chronic, check your water temperatures, and how much you feed. Those are two things, that when done in excess, can cause heavy shedding. When in doubt, try to post a picture....it gives us a better idea of the nature and severity of your shedding. If you can provide your set up basics (ie: temps, turtle size, tank size, feeding schedule, etc, we might be able to pinpoint the cause a bit better. Hope this helps!

I agree with the other poster, most likely you are over-feeding them. If you check the temps and cut back on their food it will go away. You should not be able to see visible skin shedding on a healthy turtle.
