hey i just bought my gecko (today)got him all set up and everything. he was pretty calm in the petstore, now he's acting a jerk. nipped at me a few times *didn't hurt* and well he's doing alot of hiding. everyone else have the same problem when they first got their geckos? it hasn't ate yet either. I just it's first day blues right?

its perfectly normal some new leos especially babies will not eat for a week so one day is nothing. As long as it drinks water it will be fine. Keep an eye on it but don't stress yourself out

Also, it's perfectly normal for you gecko to hide a lot. They're nocturnal and very private and do spend most of their light hours in one of their hides. As for the bites, I would limit handling the gecko to a minimum as it tends to really stress some of them out.

Dont worry and give him some time before handling him. Leave him alone for a couple of days, even a week or two. taming is a thing of patience.
