New Leo...What color is he considered??

blkmetalgrl Aug 30, 2004 08:35 PM

Hi everybody I've been reading this board for a long time now...I just recently acquired a baby leopard gecko. I was down in Miami with my boyfriend to look at a greed tree python and this poor little guy was kept in a small cage that was filthy and full of feces, not only did it smell horrible but he had no water. I had to take him home. I've been reading up leo's, but its been a while. I just want to know what color he is considered. Thanks

Jen

Hypo doesn't necessarily mean they won't have any spots. That would be a "Super Hypo". Hypo is short for hypomelanistic, "hypo" means less than and "melanistic" means black. So anything with less-than-normal black pigmentation could be considered "hypo".

I would also consider it a hypo tangerine. The real dark spots on its' back probably won't go away completely, but may fade a little. Time will tell.
