hello! my name is jeffrey howell and im 13 years old from ohio! ive spent the last 2 years researching an learning all i can about leopard geckos, crested geckos and bearded dragons. I have a 17 month old high yellow leopard gecko named Leo who i rasied from an egg. he lives in a natural 75 gallon aquarium by himself with shelf liner as a substrate. he has calcium dishes, water dishes and perfect temps so u dont need to worry (i know all about what im doing). he gets 2-4 mealworms always available and about 2-3 crickets every other day. i also have a crested gecko named spike whos 18 months old (also raised from an egg) and a 2 1/2 month old bearded dragon named Charlie who i got from KDRKreatures. i also have 2 cats and a dog. i wuld say more but i have some stuff to do so i hope i can help all u out any way possible in this forum!

Welcome to the forum! sounds like you really know your stuff!!! just one question, what do you mean by raised them from an egg? did you actually get tham as eggs then hatch them out?? or did you just get them very young?? either way thats really cool!

not to scare u but, be forwarned. any thing you try to help out with that is consversial(spelling) make sure you say where you herd it from. once in a wile someone will come in here say a local vet, or a local breeder told me this and told me that. and im refering to simple things that we all know is wrong, such as calci sand is the best and most natural susbtrait for leos. put simply be carefull of what you say, and how you say it. i mean shoot, im trying to help you here, and someone is prob ganna yell me me. hahahahahahaha. well any way welcome. im nevin, and you can see what animals i have in my profile.

Just messing with you! Welcome Jeff, what Nevin is trying to say is there are lots of viewpoints about what is best for leos. There are going to be debates...don't take anything personally, I have been known to "debate" on many subjects We also like pictures here...so post some when you get a chance. Oh yeah, do a thread search if you are looking for info, that way you don't get an earful for asking a question someone probably asked the day before.
Hey Nevin is it just me or has your collection grown since this past summer?

thank u 4 the welcomes! anyway, to answer yur question, i got him as an egg from a reputable breeder that my uncle knows and he gave me the egg and i incubated it and raised it. same thing happened with the crested gecko.it really isnt that hard to raise them, u just need to know wat yur doing!

xNeViNx Aug 31, 2004 09:26 PM

but with leos, cresteds, and beardies, you really dont need to know what your doing.hahahahahahaha. there soo easy to breed, thats why those 3, and ball pythons are ussually the first choice of first time breeders.
