This little girl was produced here in 2002 from a nice normal yellow-phase female Pucallpa redtail and a black Pucallpa male, she is not any kind of cross or intergrade, she is BCCxBCC, simply a Peru redtail that is black.
I myself am unsure if there is any such thing as a true black-boa (melanogaster).. and as far as I can tell the very blackest redtail boas overall I've ever seen were from southern Guyana and looked much more like a boa from that area than a Peru snake.
Anyhow.. when this little girl was newborn she looked pretty much like any other nice Pucallpa baby from our lines. Now at age 2 and about 4' in length the black-look is coming on strong.
Thanks for looking and reading!
