What should I do....

IAHerper Aug 31, 2004 10:17 AM

I,ll tell you a short story, then tell you the problem, then you all tell me what you would do...My wife bought me a awsome little female black blood for Christmas last year from a reputable breeder and I was so impressed that I bought her a mate from the same breeder in Daytona...now the problem...I was playing with "baby" last night and caught a glimpse of a hemipenes, so I probed her and sure enough...I have two males.
So..what do I do...just buy a female, complain to the breeder now that I have had the animal for almost a year, even if they offer me a refund...I'll be getting a refund for a 300g snake and giving them a 1200g snake....what should I do??

I would contact the breeder if they are reputable they will work somthing out with you Just explain it as you just did. as to returning them a larger animal There are going to be most likly shipping charges maybe thay will work with that. Also look at it from their point of view Yes they did miss sex it but why didn't you verify prior to buying a mate? Just a little devils advocate not meaning to agrivate the situation

Keep them both and buy a female.Sell the male and use the money towards a female.Or do what kevngina said call the company back and see if they will work with you.Personally I would pick the best one and put the other up for sale and wait for a good looking female.

My bad...I contacted the breeder and much to my surprise they are being more than great about it. I just jumped the gun by thinking that after nearly a year they wouldn't do much for me.So to the breeders( you know who you are) I want to say I'm sorry for not contacting you first and ever doubting that you would help.

Thats great, alway glad to hear dealers helping out the customers also.Hope you get a screaming black female.

Yeah...I felt like a total ass when I called them and they were being soooo helpful. I don't think very many other breeders would be willing to help after a year.

Man I know what you mean about being an ass, I just purchased a new outboard motor and had nothing but trouble with it.Normally they don't return you money, but after the 5th time stranded on the ocean I demanded my money back with lots of cursing going on.After all said and done he was calm and cool and said he'll have a check waiting for me.I was like uhhh o.k. thank you sir!
Then felt dumb afterwards. But damm don't want to be stranded on the ocean either so anyway glad alls good. Later, Ethan
