Sydney's been acting fairly normal lately, and he's been pooping almost everyday (though he didn't today and yesterday), though I still suspect he might still have small amounts of pinworms, so I need to get a follow up fecal in so I can get more panacur, but I was just wondering if the amount of food he's eating is really as little as it seems.
Everyday he gets greens, some mixed veggies, and repcal pellets...usually all he ever eats is red repcal pellets...I try to mix it so he accidently gets greens and other colored pellets every once in a while. He eats between 2-4 pellets everyday, rarely eating more, and occasionally only eating one or sometimes none. I don't think he's eating any of the other food unless by accident.
Then on monday, wednesday, and friday, I offer about 8 crickets...sometimes he'll eat them all and sometimes he'll eat five or six of them....I dust these with calcium w/d3 every feeding and vitamins on monday and friday.
He's not a very big beardie considering he's about 2.5 years old. He's around 16-17 inches, and he's been that size since he was a little over a year old. I think the fact that he's had so many parasite problems might be why he's not very large. Also, he's skinny, but not skinny like an unhealthy beardie. He still has muscular legs, fairly thick tail, hip bones don't show, and he has fat pockets on his head. I don't have a gram scale (I want one), but last we checked I believe he was between 300-350 grams.
It's sort of strange. He's skinny and very picky, while my mali uro is very fat (overweight...I can't figure out how to get her to thin down) and eats whatever I put in her dish...and now she won't poop...when she was pooping everyday she wasn't too fat, just a little. Now it's been almost a week and she's getting huge. She has a terrible tendancy to not want to go in her cage too, so I have to take her out and put newspapers and towels all over the floor to try to get her to go. What strange lizards I have.
