Before you call them normals let them shed a few times! Here is a picture of one of my normals. This is from a Amel het caramel x Caramel. When it hatched I thought it was just a normal. But now that it has shed twice , I'am not sure.As it gets bigger the grey background has filled in with the rust brown color? What do you think? Isn't this fun.
Good luck with your young ones.

This is another one of the hatchlings.

Actually now that the "Caramel" has come out it looks like a normal. It looked SO dark compaired to the others I didn't think it could be anything but a Caramel, but I was wrong.

Would like to see a picture of your normal(caramel?)

Amanda E Sep 01, 2004 01:44 PM

Actually, to tell you the truth, I really can't tell that much of a difference between any of the normals. And I didn't take them out of the incubator until many of them were fully hatched, so I don't know which one was the one I had labeled as a Caramel.

In all actuality, in the last photo I posted (in original post), I think it is actually showing (from left to right) a normal and then three hypos. It's just that the two hypos I labeled as normals are just a tad bit darker than the other hypo. When I was looking at them all earlier I did notice that some of the hypos are much darker than some of the others, but they are all just hypos.

Oh no. I just thought of something... Both of the adults are from Rich Z. Maybe the parents have more than one hypo gene floating around in them, like he's always complaining about. Yikes! That would really screw things up for me.

Here's a photo of one of the normals though, just because you asked:
